Order PHASMATODEA (spectre or ghost insects)
Of all insects, possibly none are better adapted to their environment
than the stick and leaf insects. The long, slender bodies and spindly
legs that are finer even than those of the mantids, make the stick insect
almost impossible to detect when perched on a similarly coloured twig.
Also, the advanced leaf camouflage of certain insects in this order
provide outstanding protection from most predators. [...]
