Due to health issues, CodeCon will not be the usual
tents-and-generator exercise this year, we will do that again when I'm
in remission again. Instead, I'm holding a rolling codefest at my place
on the Central Coast (ten minutes east of Gosford). Come for as many
or as few days as you like, hang out for as long as you like.
Start time on Friday is about noon, because it is highly likely that I will be receiving blood products in the hospital on the Friday morning.
While I have quite low energy these days, I'd very much like to see as many of my geek friends as possible over the 3 days.
If you have geek children, they are also welcome to bring their laptop and hack, too.
Please let me know if you are thinking of coming, so I have some idea of numbers.
Coding, talking about coding, scenic bush walks, coding,
whale watching, coding,
avoiding the Honey-Do list, and coding.
We will probably get take-away for meals, or maybe a group booking at a restaurant, depending on what my neutrophils are doing.
Depending on the weather, and the inclination, there are some great spots nearby to take the folding chairs. Well, until laptop batteries run out. One of my favorite places host lots of trees and leaves and even has 3 bars of mobile broadband reception.
There will be a Single Malt Scotch Appreciation mini-conf on the Saturday night, around a fire in the brazier.
They tend to like 2-night bookings that time of year.
Google says the travel time is 4h11m from Canberra.

And also a thread about explaining to corporate lawyers that Open Source is pro bono not “hobbyist” or “amateur”.
