Junkyard 1.0.D414

The Junkyard package is an eclectic collection of programs and utilities that are too small to justify their own individual projects.

Being an “every problem is a program” sort of person, my Junkyard grows every time I have a small program to write. And sometimes not so small, but not large enough to go through the whole procedure for creating a project and its website, make sure its package builds correctly, etc, etc.

There are several ways you can obtain the Junkyard, as either source code or pre-compiled binaries.
[*] The Master Sources

The following files are available for download from this web site:

junkyard-1.0.D414.tar.gz The complete source.
junkyard-1.0.pdf The reference manual for the project, all of the man pages in the one document.
junkyard-1.0.D414.ae The complete source as a single Aegis change set, in aedist(1) format.
debian/ Pre-built Debian packages for Ubuntu 12.04 precise amd64

[*] Ubuntu Packages

If you use Ubuntu Linux, there are pre-built packages available for installation using the normal sudo apt-get install method, from this package archive (PPA).

Instructions are available there for how to manually add the PPA to your /etc/apt/sources.list file, but the following commands are sufficient on recent versions of Ubuntu:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:pmiller-opensource/ppa
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install junkyard
[*] Debian Packages
  • This web site provides pre-built Debian packages for Ubuntu 12.04 precise amd64
  • The above PPA also has Debian packages, including the source packages.

[*] Aegis DVCS
  • This project is developed using Aegis, a distributed version control system.
  • The Aegis repository for this project is available.
  • The project is available as a single change set in aedist(1) format.
