I have come acros a number of puzzles during the literature search.

Ctenomorpha howorthii was last described by Gray, G.R. (1835). ‘Synopsis of the Species of Insects Belonging to the Family of Phasmidae.’ 48pp. (Longman, Rees, Orme, Brown, Green and Longman: London.) . I don't know why it stopped being cited.
Necroscia annulipes is cited in Gray 1835 and Tepper 1902. I don't know why it stopped being cited.
From Paul Brock, 5 Dec 2000: "More errors. Whilst I am not certain, it is probable that Tepper assumed that Prince of Wale's Island was part of Australia - although it is the former name for the island of Penang in Peninsular Malaysia. You will see other similar errors in Tepper. In any case N. annulipes is a very conspicuous species which has never been found in Australia."
Tepper 1902 cites Ophicrania as coming from Australia, cites Kaup (1866) as the source. Neither Vickery 1983 nor Balderson 1998 mention it. Neither does Musgrave 1932.
